About Ajita Member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors (MNZAC)
I am a counsellor working in Thames with 10 years of experience working in community groups and now in private practice. I offer expertise in mindfulness, trauma, anxiety, meditation, women's psychology and spirituality. I offer a person-centred and strength-based approach, focusing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Mindfulness CBT). In my years of counselling, mindfulness has proven to be powerful yet a gentle healing practice in supporting my clients to connect to their own sources of strength and healing.
I have practised both Eastern and Western meditative practices over the past 40 years. I have studied with Buddhist teachers since 2005 and have been greatly inspired by the teachings of Adyashanti and Tara Brach. Buddhist psychology has added a depth of wisdom to the mindfulness interventions I use in my counselling practice.
